The First Deputy Speaker of the Iraqi Council of Representatives, Adnan Faihan al-Dulaimi, commemorated the National Day of Mass Graves, describing it as a national occasion to remember the victims of crimes and violations committed by the former dictatorship against the Iraqi people.
In a statement issued on Saturday, Faihan noted that the legislative authority continues to follow up on the implementation of the Martyrs Foundation Law to ensure justice for victims’ families and protect their rights, while also supporting efforts to document mass grave crimes as acts of genocide.
He concluded by paying tribute to Iraq’s martyrs and expressing hope for lasting security and stability for the country.
