Faihan: Parliament Ready to Strengthen Strategic Partnership with China and Activate “Development Road” Project

The First Deputy Speaker of the Iraqi Council of Representatives, Adnan Faihan al-Dulaimi, met on Sunday with the Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Iraq, Cui Wei, to discuss ways to enhance strategic cooperation between the two friendly countries. The meeting also addressed strengthening parliamentary communication channels, as well as reviewing recent local, regional, and international developments and their impact on joint cooperation.

Faihan affirmed the parliament’s commitment to advancing bilateral partnership frameworks in a way that serves mutual interests and meets the aspirations of both nations. He highlighted the importance of benefiting from China’s advanced expertise across various sectors to support Iraq’s development process.

He also stressed the need to activate existing bilateral agreements and prioritize the “Development Road” project as a strategic initiative, alongside creating an attractive investment environment that enables reputable Chinese companies to contribute effectively to the development of Iraq’s service and economic sectors.
