Faihan Discusses Support for Sports Sector with Darjal, Praises Iraq’s Historic World Cup Qualification

The First Deputy Speaker of the Iraqi Council of Representatives, Adnan Faihan al-Dulaimi, received at his office the President of the Iraqi Football Association, Adnan Darjal, in the presence of several members of parliament. The meeting focused on ways to develop the sports sector by providing a supportive environment that enables Iraq to achieve a strong presence on the international stage.

Faihan praised the national team’s achievement in qualifying for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, describing it as a historic milestone in Iraqi football. He said the qualification reflects sustained efforts and sound planning, stressing that the Council of Representatives will continue to support this trajectory through legislative and oversight roles to ensure the continuity of achievements and strengthen Iraq’s competitive presence globally.
