The First Deputy Speaker of the Iraqi Council of Representatives, Adnan Faihan al-Dulaimi, met on Wednesday with the head and members of the Communications and Media Commission to discuss the commission’s work and the legislation needed to strengthen its regulatory and oversight role.
Faihan stressed the importance of supporting independent institutions and called on the commission to regulate media activity in line with the values and traditions of Iraqi society.
He also directed the Parliamentary Training and Development Institute to organize a joint workshop involving relevant institutions and parliamentary committees to develop related legislation and address overlapping authorities.
