The First Deputy Speaker of Iraq’s Parliament, Adnan Faihan al-Dulaimi, said on Monday that the current parliamentary term will give special priority to legislation affecting the education sector, particularly long-awaited laws concerning teachers and educational staff.

Chairing the first meeting of the Parliamentary Education Committee, al-Dulaimi highlighted the importance of recognizing the contributions and sacrifices of educators, describing their role as central to shaping future generations and building society.
He also discussed with committee members the key challenges facing the education sector, including infrastructure shortcomings, shortages in essential resources, and legislative gaps that directly impact the status and future of educational personnel.
He noted that his decision to begin overseeing parliamentary committees through the education sector reflects a firm belief in its critical role in advancing the state and strengthening its scientific and educational foundations.
