Adnan Faihan Sponsors National Conference for Iraqi Women Entrepreneurs

The First Deputy Speaker of the Iraqi Council of Representatives, Adnan Faihan al-Dulaimi, sponsored, in cooperation with the Central Bank of Iraq, a national economic conference for Iraqi women entrepreneurs at parliament under the slogan: “Women and Entrepreneurship: From Participation to Expansion and Growth in Iraq.” The event was attended by members of parliament, business leaders, advisers, and representatives of civil society organizations.

In his opening speech, Faihan stressed that Iraqi women play a vital role in rebuilding the economy and shaping the country’s development future, praising their contributions and resilience across various sectors.

He also emphasized the importance of strengthening women’s entrepreneurship through supportive legislation and sustainable institutional initiatives, reaffirming parliament’s commitment to advancing women’s participation in economic development.

The conference included discussions on financing programs and challenges facing women entrepreneurs, and concluded with recommendations aimed at enhancing women’s role in different sectors.
